Aubussons are also known as flat-woven French rugs and tapestries. They are one of the most widely recognized rugs today. It was made primarily for the nobility and the wealthy. These floor coverings were ambitious in size and weaved at the village of Aubusson and Felletin in central France.
Aubussons have a special place in our hearts because they were one of the first product lines we specialized in. Looking back, our goal was simple, to recreate the same weaving technique, style, texture, and quality that was once celebrated.
We sought to make a rug decorated by nobility affordable and accessible to the general public. We hoped everyone could appreciate the splendor that decorative Aubusson rugs can offer.
We have also taken one step further and introduced our very own interpretation of these classic designs through our Aubusson Reimagined line and our Contemporary Flat Weave Aubussons, which are available in standard and custom sizes.
